July was a big month for wine competitions and this year we participated in the third annual Virginia Wine Lover Magazine Wine Classic.  We submitted our wines to compete against 140-plus of the best wines produced across the state. 

Twelve wine experts from across the state judged the wine in double-blind in flights, and rated each wine based on a certain number of points across 10 categories including bouquet, color, taste, aftertaste and more.  The medals given out were Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Rosemont took the following medals:

• Platinum - 2009 Chardonnay
• Gold - Merlot NV
• Gold - 2007 Meritage
• Gold - 2008 Syrah
• Silver - 2009 Pinot Grigio
• Silver - 2009 Traminette
• Silver - 2008 LaCrosse
• Silver - 2008 Rose' of Chambourcin
• Silver - Lake Country Blush
