New Virginia State Rules for Dogs in Tasting Rooms

What’s one of the things you remember the most about your visits to Rosemont?  Usually when we ask people, they immediately mention “Madison!”  Madison is Justin & Aubrey’s adorable Chow/German Shepard mix that you can usually find greeting you when you arrive.  We have always opened our doors widely to guests traveling and tasting with their four legged friends, and have always welcomed a friend for Madison.

Unfortunately, this week we received a letter, and were also notified by the Virginia Winery Association, that the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will no longer allow us to permit dogs in the Tasting Room, leash or not (exception being service animals).

Please believe that this is just as hard for you all as it is for us – the rule also applies to Madison, who has grown up in the Tasting Room.  We love having you bring your dogs to visit us in the Tasting Room, but from this point onward we cannot allow them inside.

You’re still more than welcome to bring your dogs to the vineyard and enjoy our outdoor seating areas, including the side porches and lawn. We do have outside stairs that will allow you access to the porches with your dogs.  We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for your future visits, but we hope you continue to enjoy your visits to Rosemont with your furry friends tagging along outside.
