The Winery
The 450 acre Rosemont Estate has been in the Rose Family since 1858, with the home place actually dating back to the mid-1700’s. Over generations, farming operations have included vegetable farming, a peach orchard, beef cattle, dairy farming and commodity crops such as hay, tobacco, corn and soybeans. In 2003 we continued the journey as stewards of the land with the planting of 16,000 grape plants, and planting another 16,000 the next year. Construction of Rosemont Winery began in November of 2006, and in September 2007, we produced our first vintage!
At Rosemont Winery you will find a beautiful early American Style building with a state of the art underground wine production facility. Our winery is the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon enjoying Virginia wine or for your own special occasion – private dinners, corporate events, and even weddings. For more information on custom events, please visit our events page.
During your visit to the winery you can taste a wide variety different wines from our estate and enjoy a tour of our production area and barrel room. We also have a gift room full of wine accessories and crafts from local vendors, as well as an art gallery featuring local artists from the Lake Country area.
During the summer months and major holidays Chef David Rose is in the kitchen preparing a special tasting menu for our guests! Please check the website regularly for updates on when he'll be in town and preparing food. He's also available for catering special events, so please call the winery for more information!
