2016 was one of the toughest vintages for our white wines that we’ve had in the vineyard. We ended up losing 88% of our Pinot Gris grapes due to two late frosts in April, resulting in a huge decline in our Pinot Grigio production for the year.
Where this vintage differs from our usual Pinot Grigio is that with such small lots of wine, we fermented everything in barrel. 100% barrel fermented and aged, this Pinot Grigio closely resembles a Pinot Gris with a rounder body, perfect for pairing with a variety of foods. It hits you with bright aromas of juicy pear, lime and almond, then leads you to find its undertones of graphite, green papaya and orange blossom.
