2017 was a wonderful vintage for Pinot Grigio – we had a great crop load and the grapes kept their acidity beautifully. We’re grateful for this full vintage, after the 2016 vintage took an 88% loss from late freezes that year. The 2017 is shaping up to be one our favorites so far – it has complex aromas and a bright and inviting texture that lingers beautifully.
Due to a shortage on tank space (what a difference a year makes!) we did ferment some of the Pinot in barrel. This gives it a beautiful body, perfect for pairing with a variety of foods. It hits you with bright aromas of green apple, juicy pear, lime and almond, with a touch of minerality.
