We are happy to announce that we are now offering our Adopt-A-Vine program again, for a new planting that will be happening this Spring! We are adding two acres of Chardonel to the vineyard across from the Winery and have decided to again offer our “Adopt A Vine” program.
Chardonel has quickly become one of the most important grapes for us here at Rosemont! We currently have 2.4 acres of Chardonel, but we use this grape in our Extra Brut Sparkling White, Block A, Virginia White, and our Lineage. So we’ll definitely need to grow some more as our wine production expands!
This new planting will only include 20 rows of grapes! This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about what goes into making your bottle of wine. Adopting a row of vines will allow you to get in on the “ground level” and see just what is involved with establishing a vineyard!
Adoption Cost: $300
To participate in this exciting and educational program, we are offering a one-time payment of $315.90 (this includes tax). In addition to a handsome plaque engraved with your name that will be displayed on your adopted row of vines for the next 40 to 50 years, you will also receive the following unique experience and benefits:
2021 | Planting: Join us in April to plant some of the vines in your row. Date TBD.
2022 | Learn to Prune: Join us in March to learn the art of pruning your vines. Date TBD.
2023 | Train Your Vine: Join us in March to prune and train your vine for the year ahead. Date TBD.
2023 | Harvest: Help harvest your grapes! Date TBD.
2023 | Harvest Party! We’ll host a large harvest party for a successful harvest. Date TBD.
2024 | Wine Tasting: Join us to taste the first wines made from your vines!
2024| Receive your 1st bottle of wine produced from your grapes: 2023 vintage.
2025 | Receive your 2nd bottle of wine produced from your grapes: 2024 vintage.
2026 | Receive your 3rd bottle of wine produced from your grapes: 2025 vintage.
Of course, you can visit your adopted vines at any time to check on their progress and see how they’re growing. Talking to them helps encourage them to produce great fruit – we do it all the time!
Please note, that the program is being offered first to our Rosemont Club Members. Beginning on March 15th, we will open up the program for all other interested parties! If you are interested, please email Aubrey@rosemontofvirginia.com for an application, or give us a call here at the Winery, 434-636-9463.
This has been a very successful program the past times that we have offered this opportunity. Rows sell out quickly, so if you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible! All rows will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
