DESCRIPTION:Make plans to join us for the 15th Annual Rosemont Wine & Art Festival! \n\n\nThis is our biggest event of the year\, highlighting over 30 fine artists and exhibitors\, adding new talent year after year.  You’ll find art of all mediums\, including paintings\, photography\, pottery\, jewelry\, woodworking\, and more. \nGregory’s Grill and The Salty Cactus will be on-site serving their amazing food and Mark & Dora and Mama Bri Bri & The Stranger will be playing throughout the day! \n\n\nFeatured Artists for This Year Include:\n  \n \nGranite Creations – Dave Almond – Virginia Beach\, VA\nGranite Pieces \nGranite Creations has been in business since 2015 and has gained a strong following throughout Virginia\, North Carolina\, and DC Area.  They take recycled granite pieces and turn them into lazy susans\, cheese boards\, and trivets! \n\n  \n  \n\nLiteEmUp Bottles – Marlene Barbera – Raleigh\, NC\nHydro-Dipped Glass Bottles \nLiteEmUp Bottles started in 2017 and continues to grow and create new products!  Marlene upcycles discarded bottles and turns them into elegant\, functional art.  Reduce\, reuse\, and recycle! \n  \n\nDukie Barner – Henrico\, NC\nMixed Media Art \nDukie is currently an exhibiting artist in Rosemont Winery’s Art Gallery.  She is a member of the Halifax County Arts Council and was an art teacher for 22 years! \n  \nBirds By Danny B – Danny Blackwell – Washington\, NC – New Artist!\nPVC Bird Sculptures \nAfter retirement\, Danny needed something to fill the void.  He enjoys working with his hands\, and creating the PVC birds is an expression of him! \n  \n\nBaskets by Jeannie B – Jeannie Blackwell – Washington\, NC \nHandwoven Baskets \nAfter retirement\, Jeannie started making rope baskets and found that it connected her to other people. \n  \n  \nSteady Porch Farm – Naomi Boswell & Steve Wickenkamp – Chase City\, VA – New Artist!\nFresh Cut Flowers \nSteady Porch Farm is a specialty cut flower farm located outside of Chase City\, VA.  They use regenerative farming practices to produce beautiful\, fresh-cut flowers. \n  \n \nArte Blanche Fine Arts – Jennifer Bunting – Richmond\, VA – New Artist!\nCustom Glass Art \nArte Blanche is a woman-owned glass company that creates unique\, functional art using US-sourced materials.  Specializing in kiln-formed techniques\, including 3D glass waves\, custom lanterns\, and hand-built glass trees\, the company emphasizes creativity and environmental responsibility. \n\n  \n  \n\nPeculiar Pantry – Beth Callis – South Hill\,  VA \nArtisan Pecans \nBeth has always loved making food-related gifts for family and friends.  Peculiar Pantry is a small batch producer of snack foods founded in 2022. \n  \n  \nDay Three Bath & Body – Joy & Billy Davis – Mechanicsville\, VA – New Artist! \nHandmade Skin Care \nDay Three Bath & Body creates fresh\, natural\, handmade soaps and organic skincare\, inspired by the 3rd day of creation.  Featured in Southern Living! \n  \nBob Dobson – Henrico\, NC\nWood Turning \nBob is a retired USMC Colonel.  He enjoys golfing\, fishing\, reading\, traveling\, and cooking\, and has been turning wood for six years. \n\n  \n  \n\nHandmade Pottery by Jayme Doerhoff – Jayme Doerhoff – Bracey\, VA\nPottery  \nJayme is a locally taught potter who handmakes pottery\, platters\, bowls\, cups\, candles\, and Holiday trees and wreaths. \n  \n\n  \n  \n\nMam Jam’s Candle Company – Tracy Foster – Rice\, VA\nHandmade Candles \nMam Jam’s Candles is a small\, family-run business that grew out of Tracy’s love of all things fragrant!  She began making candles in 2015 after becoming an empty-nester\, and she is thankful to be able to live out her passion! \n  \nLuxury Live Edge Furniture – Steve Grassi – Sumerduck\, VA – New Artist!\nWoodworking\n \nAfter Steve’s parents lost a 300-year-old oak tree\, his new furniture-making business was born and became his full-time job! \n\n  \n  \n\nKarl Groeger – Bracey\, VA\nMetal Works \nKarl retired in March of 2021 and learned to weld shortly after.  He makes fun things out of metal to keep himself busy and out of his wife’s hair! \n  \n\n  \nGutierrez Woodworking – Luis Gutierrez – Kernersville\, NC\nWoodworking \nLuis is a self-taught woodworker who loves turning wood pieces. \n  \n  \n  \nCarole Hans – Macon\, NC – New Artist!\nHandmade Journals & Paper \nAfter years as a watercolorist\, Carole felt the need to explore more tangible arts.  Most of her materials are thrifted\, giving a second life to paper and discarded books. \n  \n  \n\nKarolyn Hawthorne – South Hill\, VA\nPaintings & Silver Jewelry \nKarolyn was born and raised in Miami\, FL\, where she developed a love for natural beauty early in life. She attended college at Virginia Tech and\, after graduation\, moved to Lawrenceville\, VA to pursue a teaching career. In 1996\, she enrolled in an oil painting class at a Southside Virginia Community College\, and she was immediately hooked. Recently she has discovered that her greatest painting pleasure is painting animal portrait commissions\, however\, she also enjoys handcrafting fine silver jewelry as well. \n\n  \n\nPeggy Helms – Chesterfield\, VA\nAcrylic\, Pastel\, and Watercolor Paintings \nPeggy Helms is a retired grade school teacher and passionate artist who works primarily with acrylics and pastels. Her artwork reflects a deep love of family\,  nature\, and playful details.  She is currently creating hand-painted Halloween and Christmas gourds that blend charm with seasonal spirit. Whether capturing the beauty of the outdoors or the warmth of home\, her art invites joy and imagination. \n\n  \n\nWilloughby Hundley – Boydton\, VA \nAuthor \nDr. Willoughby Hundley is an emergency room physician who draws on his 35 years of experience as a county medical examiner to compose his fictitious mysteries set in Mecklenburg County.  A graduate of VCU medical school\, he lives with his wife in his hometown of Boydton\, VA. \n\n  \n  \n\nJanet Jackson – Raleigh\, NC\nJewelry \nJanet transforms semiprecious gemstones into unique\, trend-forward designs.  Using hand tools\, she carefully shapes and assembles each component.  Her unique earwires are hand-formed using a USA-made sterling silver wire. \n\n  \n  \n\nKindred Spirits Pottery – Brigitte Bombardier & Dale Willingham – Littleton\, NC\nPottery \nBrigitte and Dale are husband and wife\, studio potters\, handcrafting pottery on the wheel and hand-building.  They enjoy creating handmade\, functional\, one-of-a-kind pottery inspired by beautiful Lake Gaston. \n\n  \n\nCricket Glass Designs – Gary Orr – Valentines\, VA \nStained-Glass \nGary is a self-taught stained glass artist and has 23 years of making and designing glass art using the Tiffany Style.  His specialties include custom-designed Window Panels\, Door Transoms\, and Cabinet Doors.  You can also catch him teaching stained glass at Norton’s Art Studio in Henrico\, NC\, and Halifax Studios in Halifax\, NC. \n\n  \n  \n\nRecycled Bag Lady – Mary Pike – Arlington\, VA – New Artist!\nHandwoven Bags\n \nMary has been creating and selling recycled bags for over 15 years!  She hand-weaves and crochets small cross-body bags\, tote bags\, and water bottle bags from recycled plastic bags. \n\n  \n  \n\nUnique Stained Glass – Madeline Ramsey – Alexandria\, VAStained Glass\, Fused Glass Plates\, and Bowls \nMadeline has been making glass for over 40 years.  She loves all things glass and aims to make art and beauty accessible to all! \n\n  \n  \nJR Custom Pipes & More – Jim Rose – Clarksville\, VA – New Artist!\nWoodworks\n \nJohn is a semi-retired Rosemont Barrel Club Member who handmakes wine and whiskey barrel art. \n  \n  \n\nScrollsaw Chris – Chris Ruch – Ebony\, VA\nWood Scroll Saw Pieces \nChris Ruch retired to Lake Gaston with his wife\, Valerie\, in 2011 from New Jersey. He began woodworking and scroll sawing as a hobby.  Chris cuts each piece by hand\, one at a time\, without the use of a computer-driven laser or router.  He’s just a retired man with lots of time and way too much sawdust in his garage! \n  \nStitches & Wishes – Valerie Ruch  – Ebony\, VA\nQuilting \nValerie is originally from Pennsylvania and retired to Lake Gaston.  She loves living here! \n\n  \n  \n\nSisters in Crime – Chesapeake\, VA\nAuthors \nSisters in Crime is a premier crime writing association dedicated to representing women crime writers.  They are an inclusive community supporting all fellow mystery writers and readers. \n\n  \n  \n\nPatricia Snipes & Karen Doerfler – Ebony\, VA\nStained Glass \nPatricia has been working with glass for more than 25 years\, primarily using the copper foil method.  Karen joined the team around five years ago\, and together they work on various projects within the glass medium daily! \n\n  \n  \nEdwards Woodcraft – Wake Forest\, NC – New Artist!\nWoodworking \nEdwards Woodcraft has a passion for woodworking and creating.  All of their items are handmade on the Edwards Family Farm in Middlesex\, NC. \n  \n  \n \nLoopsy Daisy – Alyssa Truesdale – Fuquay-Varina\, NC – New Artist!\nPermanent Jewelry \nAlyssa is a mom to four boys who started the ultimate “girly” hobby of creating jewelry!  She loves spending her Summers and weekends at Lake Gaston with her family and friends. \n  \n  \nWalshie Wildlife – Jim Walsh – Raleigh\, NC – New Artist!\nPhotography \nFor over 20 years\, Jim’s explored Lake Gaston by kayak\, capturing the beauty of its wildlife from the water.  His work showcases the lake’s untamed spirit. \n  \n  \nShore Soap – Carolyn Zahnow – Grandy\, NC\nHandmade Skin Care \nCaroyln has been creating soap for over 10 years.  She recently moved to the “Inner Banks” which has provided her even more inspiration!

DESCRIPTION:To see the Artists exhibiting at the 14th Annual Wine & Art Festival Click Here! \nMake plans to join us on Saturday\, June 17th\, for the 13th Annual Rosemont Wine & Art Festival!\n\nThis is our biggest event of the year\, highlighting over 30 fine artists and exhibitors\, and adding new talent year after year.  You’ll find art in all mediums\, including paintings\, pottery\, metal\, jewelry\, woodworking\, and more. \n\nGregory’s Grill and The Salty Cactus will be on-site serving their amazing food and Robbie McMillian and Matthew Godsey will be playing throughout the day!\n\nThis event is free to attend\, just a $15 tasting fee if you want to drink wine on-site; which includes a tasting and a signature glass!\n \n\n\n\nMeet the Artists!\n\n\nAlana Baker – Browns Summit\, NC\nLeather Works \nAlana is a native North Carolinian leather smith creating unique and functional art inspired by nature.  Her works feature designs that are either carved or burned into handmade leather items such as jewelry\, journals\, and wall hangings. \n\nJana’s Paintings & Pottery – Jana Baker – Pelham\, NC\nAcrylic Paintings\, Pottery\, & Handmade Purses \nJana has been painting for almost forty years.  She also makes and sells unique purses based on her own designs on the East Coast.  Jana’s reputation as an award-winning North Carolinian artist extends across the United States and abroad\, with her work reaching as far away as Ireland. \n\n  \nLiteEmUp Bottles – Marlene Barbera – Raleigh\, NC – New Artist!\nHydro dipped Glass Bottles \nLiteEmUp Bottles started in 2017 and continues to grow and create new products!  They love the sustainable aspect of using recycled bottles.  Reduce\, reuse\, and recycle! \n  \n\nDukie Barner – Henrico\, NC\nMixed Media\, Printmaking\, Photography \nDukie is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and taught art in public schools for 25 years.  She has been a participating artist in the artist co-op in Yorktown\, VA since 1975 and has exhibited in the Tidewater and Richmond areas.  She presently shows at Rosemont Winery\, HCAC\, Lakeland Cultural Art Center\, and other venues around Lake Gaston. \n  \n\nBaskets by Jeannie B– Jeannie Blackwell – Washington\, NC \nHandwoven Baskets \nJeannie is a self-taught artist and began making baskets after retirement.  She enjoys the art of basket making and the joy her art brings others. \n  \n  \n\nAnne Britt – Ebony\, VA\nBeaded Jewelry \nAnne is a self-taught beader who loves working with color and texture and exploring new techniques.  She and her husband retired to Lake Gaston seven years ago after a successful financial planning career.  Beading became a passion for Anne about thirteen years ago. \n\n  \n\n\nDexter Covington – Mebane\, NC\nLawn Sculptures \nDexter uses recycled sheet steel and hand-cuts each piece to then weld it together with a wire welder.  He has been creating metal art since 1972\, works alone\, and all designs are his own original designs.  What he enjoys most about his work is constantly creating new designs and ideas. \n  \n  \n\n\n\nBob Dobson – Henrico\, NC\nWood Turning \nBob is a retired USMC Colonel.  He enjoys golfing\, fishing\, reading\, traveling\, and cooking and has been turning wood for six years. \n  \n\nJayme Doerhoff – Bracey\, VA – New Artist!\nPottery \nJayme is a locally taught potter who handmakes pottery\, platters\, bowls\, cups\, and candles.  Recently\, she began making aluminum fire ant sculptures which are made by pouring melted aluminum into ant colonies. \n  \n\nThe Clarksville Weaver – Randie Felts – Clarksville\, VA\nHandwoven Fiber Arts \nRandie has been weaving for more than fourteen years and she loves every step; from the threading of the loom to assembling the final product. \n\n  \n  \n\n\nSarah Lee Studio – Sarah Forster – Cary\, NC – New Artist!\nResin & Acrylic Art \nSarah sells both fine and functional art.  With a degree in Marine Science and a love for experimentation\, she creates one-of-a-kind pieces that inspire a connection to nature. \n\n  \n  \n\n\nMam Jam’s Candle Company – Tracy Foster – Rice\, VA\nHandmade Candles \nMam Jam’s Candles is a small\, family-run business that grew out of Tracy’s love of all things fragrant!  She began making candles in 2015 after becoming an empty-nester and she is thankful to be able to live out her passion! \n\n  \n\n\nWatercolors by Georgia – Georgia Franck – Bracey\, VA – New Artist!\nWatercolors \nGeorgia lives and works in Bracey.  She started painting watercolors in 2020 and it became a source of tranquility in a time of uncertainty of what the future would hold.  Now her evenings are filled with painting and trying new watercolor techniques. \n\n  \n  \n\n\nPhil the Glassblower – Phil Gilson – Lawrenceville\, VA – New Artist!\nHand-Blown Glass \nPhil hand-blows glass in Colonial Era style reproductions made with period tools and molds.  He is a nine-time winner of the Early American Craftsman Award and uses recycled Rosemont Winery wine bottles for many of his pieces! \n\n  \n  \n\n\n \nKarl Groeger – Bracey\, VA – New Artist!\nMetal Works \nKarl retired in March of 2021 and while looking for a retirement hobby took a welding class at SSV Community College.  He now takes interesting-looking objects and turns them into functional décor! \n\n  \n  \n\n\nGutierrez Woodworking – Luis Gutierrez – Kernersville\, NC\nWoodworking \nLuis is originally from Texas and has been in the area for a few years.  He’s always loved working with his hands\, so\, putting his love of wood to work in his hands just felt right! \n\n  \n  \n\n\nKarolyn Hawthorne – South Hill\, VA\nPaintings & Silver Jewelry \nKarolyn was born and raised in Miami\, FL\, where she developed a love for natural beauty early in life. She attended college at Virginia Tech and after graduation moved to Lawrenceville\, VA to pursue a teaching career. In 1996 she enrolled in an oil painting class at a Southside Virginia Community College and was immediately hooked. Recently\, she has discovered that her greatest painting pleasure is painting animal portrait commissions\, however\, she also enjoys handcrafting fine silver jewelry as well. \n\nPeggy Helms – Chesterfield\, VA\nAcrylic\, Pastel\, and Watercolor Paintings \nPeggy started painting and taking art lessons about eleven years ago.  She enjoys painting landscapes but also likes to experiment with new themes and ideas.  She participates in several art shows and does commission pieces as well! \n\nSusan’s Living Art – Susan Hontz – Bracey\, VA \nAir Plants & Paintings \nCreating unique art with air plants has been a passion of Susan’s for many years.  Creating art with these little gems is endless! \n\n  \n\n\nWilloughby Hundley – Boydton\, VA\nAuthor \nDr. Willoughby Hundley is a graduate of VCU Medical School with 35 years of experience as a local medical examiner.  He lives in Boydton with his wife and has four fictitious mystery novels based on his experiences as a medical examiner. \n  \n\nJanet Jackson – Raleigh\, NC\nJewelry \nJanet’s love of rocks morphed into a jewelry business!  She is retired and devotes her time to creating unique jewelry pieces.  There is no store – just a studio in her spare bedroom.  She creates hand-wired jewelry from her home in Raleigh\, NC! \n  \n\n\n\n  \nClay Goddess Studio – Denise Jordan – Roanoke Rapids\, NC\nPottery \nDenise is a graduate of ECU’s School of Art.  She is an artist and a potter who’s inspired by lakes\, oceans\, rivers\, and streams. \n\n  \n\n\nKindred Spirits Pottery – Brigitte Bombardier & Dale Willingham – Littleton\, NC\nPottery \nBrigitte and Dale are husband and wife\, studio potters\, handcrafting pottery on the wheel\, and hand-building.  They enjoy creating handmade\, functional\, one-of-a-kind pottery inspired by beautiful Lake Gaston. \n\nCeltic Pottery – Timothy Moran – Browns Summit\, NC\nPottery \nTimothy graduated from UGA and was the owner/operator of a small chain of radio and TV stations.  He retired and earned his Master Potter certification in the state of North Carolina.  He creates one-of-a-kind\, wheel-thrown porcelain pottery with crystalline glazes. \n\nCricket Glass Designs – Gary Orr – Valentines\, VA – New Artist!\nStained-Glass \nGary has 20 years of experience making and designing glass art in the Tiffany Style.  He teaches stained glass at Norton’s Art Studio in Henrico\, NC. \n\n  \n  \n\n\nNancy Panko – Fuquay Varina\, NC\nAuthor \nNancy is a retired pediatric nurse and is the author of two novels and several children’s books.  She is a frequent contributor to the Chicken Soup for the Soul books and several magazines. \n\nPeculiar Pantry – South Hill\, VA\nRoasted Assorted Nuts \nPeculiar Pantry is a small-batch producer of snack foods made locally in South Hill\, VA.  Their food will make you smile! \n\n  \n  \n\n\nUnique Stained Glass – Madeline Ramsey – Alexandria\, VA\nStained Glass\, Fused Glass Plates & Bowls \nMadeline has been making glass for over 40 years.  She loves all things glass and aims to make art and beauty accessible to all! \n\n  \n  \n\n\nSomething Fishy Jewelry – Lisa Seeber – Broadnax\, VA \nJewelry \nLisa creates contemporary silver wire jewelry and beaded boho-inspired jewelry. \n\n  \n  \n\n\nGeorge Sheffield – Blackstone\, VA\nWoodworking and Birdhouses  \nGeorge is a self-taught hobbyist woodworker for over 65 years. He makes unique and unusual birdfeeders and birdhouses\, cutting boards\, as well as peppermills\, and other handmade wood items. \n  \n\nSisters in Crime – Chesapeake\, VA \nAuthors \nSisters in Crime is a premier crime writing association dedicated to representing women crime writers.  They are an inclusive community supporting all fellow mystery writers and readers. \n  \n\nPatricia Snipes – Ebony\, VA\nStained Glass \nPatricia has been working with glass since the early 1990s and has been creating custom art at her home on the lake since 2005. \n\n  \n  \n\n  \n\nJosephine Lane – Erika Tanner – South Hill\, VA\nHand-crafted Bow Ties \nErika has been in the bow-making business for five years.  She has a unique collection of novelty and official collegiate color bowties as well as function and fun accessories for the family! \n\n  \n\n\nNathaniel Williamson – Gainesville\, GA – New Artist!\nHandmade Jewelry  \nNathaniel is a craftsman who makes jewelry and other items from silverware and metal.  He comes from a family of craftsmen and artists! \n  \n\n  \n\n\nShore Soap – Carolyn Zahnow – Youngsville\, NC\nHandmade Soaps  \nCarolyn started creating soap and bath products in 2015.  She is a Raleigh native who worked and lived in four other states.  Carolyn finds creating bath products relaxing and satisfying in today’s crazy\, busy world.
