DESCRIPTION:Make plans to join us for the 16th Annual Rosemont Wine & Art Festival! \n\n\nThis is our biggest event of the year\, highlighting over 25 fine artists and exhibitors\, adding new talent year after year.  You’ll find art of all mediums\, including paintings\, photography\, pottery\, jewelry\, woodworking\, and more. \nGregory’s Grill and Beer Fed Beef will be on-site serving their amazing food and Adriel Genet and Little Red Birds will be playing throughout the day! \n\n\nFeatured Artists for This Year Include:\n  \n \nGranite Creations – Dave Almond – Virginia Beach\, VA\nGranite Pieces \nGranite Creations has been in business since 2015 and has gained a strong following throughout Virginia\, North Carolina\, and DC Area.  They take recycled granite pieces and turn them into Lazy Susans\, cheese boards\, and trivets! \n\n  \nBirdie’s Pimento Cheese – Robin Allen – South Hill\, VA\nArtisan Pimento Cheese \n\nBirdie’s Pimento Cheese is a marvelous blend of sharp cheddar cheese\, mayonnaise\, pimento\, and spices creating an approachable cheese spread/dip that easily pairs with crackers\, chips\, a vegetable tray\, or a bottle of wine! \n\n  \nSimply Art – Jo Balazs – Louisburg\, NC – New Artist!\nAcrylic Paintings \nJo is a self-taught artist who’s passion began at the age of 12.  They mostly paint nature; like sailboats\, birds\, trees\, and hummingbirds but they love challenging themselves with new subjects like pets! \n  \nLiteEmUp Bottles – Marlene Barbera – Raleigh\, NC\nReclaimed Glass \nMarlene creates illuminated art from reclaimed glass.  By transforming recycled bottles with solar\, battery\, and USB lighting\, she gives discarded glass a second life as functional\, light-driven designs. \n  \nDukie Barner – Henrico\, NC\nMixed Media Art \nDukie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from VCU and was a middle and high school art teacher for 24 years.  She is currently an exhibiting artist in Rosemont Winery’s Art Gallery.  She is a member of the Halifax County Arts Council and was an art teacher for 22 years! \n  \nBirds By Danny B – Danny Blackwell – Washington\, NC\nPVC Bird Sculptures \nDanny enjoys the creating and design element.  Most importantly\, his art connects him to those who appreciate his work. \n  \n  \n  \n\nBaskets by Jeannie B – Jeannie Blackwell – Washington\, NC \nHandwoven Baskets \nJeannie’s therapy is making baskets\, creating\, designing\, and engaging with people! \n\n  \n  \n\nSteady Porch Farm – Naomi Boswell & Steve Wickenkamp – Chase City\, VA\nFresh Cut Flowers \nSteady Porch Farm is a specialty cut flower farm located outside of Chase City\, VA.  They use regenerative farming practices to produce beautiful\, fresh-cut flowers. \n  \n\n\nPeculiar Pantry – Beth Callis – South Hill\,  VA \nArtisan Pecans \nBeth has always loved making food-related gifts for family and friends.  Peculiar Pantry is a small batch producer of snack foods founded in 2022. \n  \n  \nBob’s Bowls – Bob Dobson – Henrico\, NC\nWood Turning \nBob is a retired USMC Colonel.  He enjoys golfing\, fishing\, reading\, traveling\, and cooking\, and has been turning wood for seven years. \n\n  \n  \n\nHandmade Pottery by Jayme Doerhoff – Jayme Doerhoff – Bracey\, VA\nPottery  \nJayme is a locally taught potter who handmakes pottery\, platters\, bowls\, cups\, candles\, and Holiday trees and wreaths. \n  \n\n  \n\nMam Jam’s Candle Company – Tracy Foster – Rice\, VA\nHandmade Candles \nMam Jam’s Candles began in 2015 from a deep passion of fragrance.  What began as a hobby\, morphed into a small\, family-run business! \n\n  \n  \n\nKarl Groeger – Bracey\, VA\nMetal Art \n\n\nKarl retired in March of 2021 and learned to weld shortly after.  He makes fun things out of metal to keep himself busy and out of his wife’s hair! \n  \n\n  \nGutierrez Woodworking – Luis Gutierrez – Kernersville\, NC\nWoodworking \nWorking mainly in mesquite\, Luis creates live edge bowls that honor the tree’s natural shape and grain.  Each piece tells the story of the wood. \n  \n  \n  \n \n\nArt By Karolyn – Karolyn Hawthorne – South Hill\, VA\nPaintings & Silver Jewelry \nKarolyn was born and raised in Miami\, FL\, where she developed a love for natural beauty early in life. She attended college at Virginia Tech and\, after graduation\, moved to Lawrenceville\, VA to pursue a teaching career. In 1996\, she enrolled in an oil painting class at a Southside Virginia Community College\, and she was immediately hooked. Recently she has discovered that her greatest painting pleasure is painting animal portrait commissions\, however\, she also enjoys handcrafting fine silver jewelry as well. \n\n  \n\nYaYart by Peggy – Peggy Helms – Chesterfield\, VA\nAcrylic\, Pastel\, and Watercolor Paintings \nPeggy is a spirited artist whose work captures the joy of everyday like\, nature\, and nostalgia.  A retired grade school teacher and life-long creative\, Peggy now channels her passion into vibrant acrylic and pastel pieces that often blend whimsy with personal meaning. \n\n  \n\nDr. Hardy ME Mysteries – Willoughby Hundley – Boydton\, VA \nAuthor \nDr. Willoughby Hundley is an emergency room physician who draws on his 35 years of experience as a county medical examiner to compose his fictitious mysteries set in Mecklenburg County.  A graduate of VCU medical school\, he lives with his wife in his hometown of Boydton\, VA. \n\n  \nAlpine Customs – Travis LeBlanc – LaCrosse\, VA\nHandcrafted Knives \nTravis is a local blacksmith selling high quality hunting\, fishing\, camping\, and cooking knives. \n\n\n  \nWelcome & Woven – Linda McPadden – Littleton\, NC – New Artist!\nHand-Painted Slates\, Mats\, and Bags \nLinda is a former military wife who has collected roofing slates from across the North East that she now uses as the foundation for hand-painted welcome signs. \n  \nCricket Glass Designs – Gary Orr – Valentines\, VA \nStained Glass \nGary is a self-taught stained glass artist and has 24 years of making and designing glass art using the Tiffany Style.  His specialties include custom-designed Window Panels\, Door Transoms\, and Cabinet Doors.  You can also catch him teaching stained glass at Norton’s Art Studio in Henrico\, NC\, and Halifax Studios in Halifax\, NC. \n\n  \n\nUnique Stained Glass – Madeline Ramsey – Alexandria\, VA\nStained Glass\, Fused Glass Plates\, and Bowls \nMadeline has been making glass for over 40 years.  She loves all things glass and aims to make art and beauty accessible to all! \n\n  \nThe Rideout Canvas – Shelley Rideout – Emporia\, VA – New Artist!\nRural/Farm Art on Canvas \nShelley is a visual artist based in Emporia\, VA specializing in rural themed art.  With a BS in Art Education from Radford University\, she has been teaching middle school art for 20 years in Roanoke Rapids\, NC. Her art showcases the beauty of hard work from sunrise to sunset\, as well as a close knit rural community through bright and captivating colors. \n  \nJR Custom Pipes & More – Jim Rose – Clarksville\, VA\nWoodworks\n \nJim is a retired Navy Veteran making wine/whiskey barrel and wood art as a hobby. \n  \n  \n\nKelly Rose Creations – Kelly Rose – Efland\, NC – New Artist!\nEmbroidery  \nKelly Rose Creations specializes in custom embroidery services that make everyday items unique.  From tea towels to baby bibs\, their high-quality craftmanship ensures that every piece is a work of art. \n  \n  \n  \n\nSisters in Crime – Chesapeake\, VA\nAuthors \nSisters in Crime is a premier crime writing association dedicated to representing women crime writers.  They are an inclusive community supporting all fellow mystery writers and readers. \n\n  \n  \n\nStained Glass Design – Patricia Snipes & Karen Doerfler – Ebony\, VA\nStained Glass \nPatricia and Karen have 30 years of stained glass experience in three mediums.  They specialize in custom works and repairs of existing stained glass. \n\n  \n  \n  \nMyra’s Table – Myra Trent – Brookneal\, VA – New Artist!\nArtisan Cold-Pressed Oils \nOn Myra’s Table’s Farm\, they grow small grains\, wine grapes\, blueberries\, and sunflowers.  Myra loves to cook\, so this is where she embraces the farm life – in the kitchen.  She cold-presses sunflower seeds for small batch artisan oils. \n  \n  \nFiner Things by Ellen Yacovelli – Ellen Yacovelli – Wendell\, NC – New Artist!\nWatercolors \nEllen has been painting for decades and mainly sells her art through craft fairs\, art shows\, and word of mouth.  She specializes in portrait work in watercolor and she paints the things that capture her attention either through color or lines.  Ellen has raised four adult children\, each with their own families.
